Cross-age tutoring is offered to senior students as a Registered Unit. The unit provides senior students with valuable experiences of the teaching/learning process and facilitates the development of organisational skills.
Students who wish to become cross-age tutors are asked to nominate speciality subject areas. They are then briefed on appropriate teaching techniques and are allocated a tutee. To successfully complete this unit, senior students must provide eleven hours of tutorage. Tutoring sessions can cover a range of subject areas and are generally conducted during lunchtimes.
